KATHRYN OBERDORFER

 I am an abstract artist rooted in the era of Abstract Expressionism. I’m inspired by the sense of process that characterizes the works of Amy Sillman, Joan Mitchell and Richard Deibenkorn. My intent is to encourage viewers to expand their notion of their visual world. My work reflects what I see is going around us – from changing seasons and spectacular sunsets to political events. The process involves exploration and its visual articulation. It is the dialogue that emerges from the strategic placement of seemingly dissonant colors and the linear elements that offers intrigue.
