ANNALEE SCHORR
Usually optical and kinetic but sometimes political, my artwork always centers on pattern, geometry and grids. Use of unusual materials is one constant -- duct tape, emergency blankets, magnetic sheeting. Often my shows are installed as a single unit, approaching the entire gallery as if it were a blank canvas. My first solo exhibit was at Denver's Brena Gallery in 1978, and I have been painting full time ever since. Years of extensive travel -- 48 countries so far -- have always been art related. My work is greatly influenced by Guatemalan and Peruvian textiles, early Navajo rugs, and Moorish tile work. www.annaleeschorr.com [email protected] Collections: - Denver Art Museum - Univ. of Wyoming Art Museum - Spectrum Communications, Greenwood Village, CO - Jackson National Insurance, Lansing MI - Southern Utah State College - Littleton Colorado Hospital |
