WENDY CLOUGH
My paintings explore the theme of animated nature. Maybe that’s another way of saying I believe almost everything has an interior life. Other concepts of interest to me include memory and loss, beauty and nostalgia, and the link between reality and imagination. Having grown up in New Hampshire and now living in Colorado, I’ve been surrounded by natural beauty for most of my life, so I am naturally drawn to depictions of landscapes. As an artist, I choose to continue to develop the symbols and personal iconography which make up the body of my work. My paintings have been shown at Edge Gallery in Denver, Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire, the Roger Smith Gallery and Pindar Gallery in New York,, and the Portland Museum of Art (Portland, Maine). My work is in the collection of Middlebury College and The Roger Smith Hotel. www.wendyclough.com IG @wendymclough |
