I wanted to paint something representative of the Golden Triangle Art District. It made me think of Dan Ostermiller's "Scottish Angus Cow & Calf" sculpture outside the Denver Art Museum. I referred to a photo I took, during a field trip to the Chase Ranch, outside Cimarron, New Mexico (August 21, 2024).
