I am inspired by making pictures of people and of the outdoors. I am motivated by the experience of discovery and observation, and by the spontaneity of painting/drawing in live situations (in-person with a sitter in the studio, in front of a mirror, or in the field with a plein air kit). My work is influenced by the simplicity of block prints and the patterns of architecture.
