BETH ROLAND
Beth Roland’s artistic journey is deeply intertwined with her experiences as an obstetrician gynecologist. Her three dimensional artworks explore complex issues surrounding women’s bodily autonomy, societal rules, and social inequity. Inspired by the beautiful and intricate design of the female reproductive system, her forms often reference the shape of the uterus. Beth Roland also finds solace and inspiration in the natural world. The wasp nest is a recurring theme in her work-a womb like architectural wonder containing a complex social structure. This work celebrates the beauty and resilience of nature, offering commentary and counterpoint to human systems and structures. Through her art, Beth Roland, aspires to provoke thought, inspire dialogue, and ultimately contribute to a world where women have equal rights and control over their own bodies. https://bethrolandart.com IG: @bethrolandart |
