Mark Brasuell
My life and artwork revolve around my own personal experience. I am a contemporary artist exploring concepts about myself and the world around me. Manifesting in bold imagery that suggests empathy, intuition, and energy. Steeped in a visual language that references art history, life, and a physicality of expression, I create work that will inspire the audience to respond. I usually start out with a vague idea about the emotional impact I want the piece to have, but I rarely have any thought out plan of what the finished piece will look like. I let my intuition, body movement, and emotional state guide the piece out of my mind and onto the canvas or drawing surface. I reserve all judgment until the final stages of the piece. My work is in major museums in Colorado, including the Denver Art Museum.
