What intrigues me about abstraction is the problems it presents. It is much like putting the pieces of a puzzle together – arranging and rearranging elements until the composition comes together.
I bring to my work a concern for color, shape and line and their relationship to each other. My imagery is extracted from sketchbook drawings which focus on abstraction in nature. With a background in ceramics where technical processes are an integral part of the art, I enjoy experimenting with materials and find it a source of growth for me as an artist.
