Artist Statement
Madeleine Dodge's paintings on steel in a variety of
media consistently explore the essence of color and
the device of parallel lines, symbolic of consciousness.
The realization that these lines continue in theory
beyond the limits of the picture frame, despite our
ability to see their destination, inspires the possibility
that we too may continue infinitely. Like our limited
lives the paintings are simply windows through which
we glimpse eternity in the present moment. |
