On
being an artist...
Catherine Carilli's artwork is in The
Permanent Collection of 20th Century Modernism by
Colorado Artists, at the Vance Kirkland Museum in
Denver, Colorado.
Catherine Carilli is a contemporary artist
trained in a variety of artistic media . The University
of Wisconsin awarded Catherine with a MFA in Painting
and Drawing. While earning her advanced Art Degree,
Catherine created paintings, installations and
sculptures. Her work is playful , imaginative and thought provoking.
Many art museums
and galleries have
featured her artwork
including: The Madison
Wisconsin Art Center;
MOCA- Fort Collins;
University of Wisconsin;
LA Artcore, Los Angeles,
CA; University of
Wyoming; University
of New Mexico; The
Longmont Museum;
and Steinbaum -Krause
Gallery in NYC, to
name a few from her
resume. She exhibits
her work in Denver
at “Space “,
and at SPARK Gallery.
Carilli is an active
member of Boulder
County’s and
Denver’s art
communities.
Her artwork is regularly
reviewed by art critics.

Mountain Biennial
. Jay Gluckstern,
for The Boulder Daily
Camera, wrote of
a recent exhibition, “ In
some instances, Carilli’s
surfaces take on
the solidity of stone;
in others the random
beauty of a drop
cloth. Together,
those qualities combine
to suggest both the
weight and wake of
creation.”
Carilli is currently
teaching Studio Art
and Art History at
Front Range Community
College in Boulder
County. She has also
been active as an
instructor for the
Denver Art Reach
Program for many
years.
Many Colleges have
invited Carilli to
lecture, including:
The University of
Denver, in Colorado,
and Lewis Clark College
in Idaho. She is
